Plasma is the first Layer 1 I have followed closely that seems to start from this reality instead of abstract ideals.

Stablecoins are no longer a niche tool. They are how freelancers get paid across borders, how merchants hedge currency risk, how families preserve value when local systems fail them. Yet the infrastructure beneath them is often fragile. Fees spike without warning. Finality is slow when it matters most. At its core, Plasma is a Layer 1 built specifically for stablecoin settlement. Not as a feature layered on top of general purpose design, but as the foundation itself. These groups care about predictability, compliance readiness, and operational clarity. Plasma seems aware that infrastructure must earn trust slowly and lose it quickly.
From an institutional perspective, sub second finality and predictable fees are not luxuries. They are requirements.
