The European Union and India are committed to acting together as anchors of stability in an increasingly fragmented and multipolar world.
The 16th #EUIndia 🇪🇺🇮🇳 Summit delivered three major outcomes:
1️⃣ The EU-India Free Trade Agreement is a crucial geopolitical stabiliser. It showcases how the EU and India are acting together to protect international rules-based trade - by offering partnerships instead of tariffs.
2️⃣ A new Security and Defence Partnership, strengthening our cooperation to address the full spectrum of security threats and to better protect our citizens and shared interests - in Europe, the Indo-Pacific, and globally.
3️⃣ A shared roadmap for the future through the Joint Comprehensive Strategic Agenda towards 2030, aligning our priorities on energy, connectivity, mobility.
BrahMos Is Becoming Asia’s Strike Weapon of Choice... 🇮🇳🇷🇺🔥
> Vietnam and Indonesia have formally expressed intent to acquire BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles. > The deals are awaiting Russia’s NOC under the Indo–Russian JV framework.
> Once cleared, this could unlock multi-billion-dollar defence exports for India. > For Southeast Asia, BrahMos offers credible maritime strike capability and deep-strike deterrence. > For India, it validates BrahMos as a globally adaptable, platform-agnostic weapon system.
👉 BrahMos is no longer just India’s deterrent... It’s fast becoming Asia’s strategic equaliser.
🚨 MASSIVE: Trump Threatens 100% Tariff on Canada Over China Deal: What’s Really Going On
Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Canada: if Canada finalizes a major trade deal with China, the U.S. will impose 100% tariffs on Canadian goods entering the American market.
Trump claims Canada could become a transit hub for Chinese goods, allowing China to bypass heavy U.S. tariffs by routing exports through Canada, which has deep and long-standing trade ties with the U.S.
The Real Reason
The core issue is Canada’s growing alignment with China under Mark Carney. Canada is actively reducing dependence on the U.S. and exploring a “landmark” trade partnership with China, which has clearly irritated Trump.
What the Canada–China Deal Involves:
🔹China may cut canola tariffs on Canada from ~84% to ~15%, reopening Canada’s biggest export market.
🔹Visa-free entry for Canadian visitors to China.
🔹Canada to allow around 49,000 Chinese EVs at just 6% tariff.
Why the U.S. Is Worried
Such a deal would:
🔹Strengthen China’s economic foothold in North America
🔹Undermine U.S. tariff pressure on Beijing
🔹Signal that even close U.S. allies are hedging toward China
Trump’s tariff threat is an attempt to intimidate Canada into backing off China. But the move may backfire, pushing Canada even closer to Beijing and reinforcing the perception that U.S. policy is unpredictable.
In trying to block China, US may be accelerating China’s diplomatic gains instead.
The India–EU Free Trade Agreement marks a major boost to India’s global trade under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership, connecting India with 27 European nations. #IndiaEUTradeDeal
The deal gives Indian exports wide access to EU markets, benefiting sectors like textiles, leather, agriculture, and helping farmers and industries grow.
It also creates new opportunities for skilled Indian professionals, strengthening India’s role in the global economy.
> A leaked audio of US Senator Ted Cruz has blown the lid off the India–US trade collapse. > The deal didn’t fail at the table... it was strangled inside the White House. > Cruz confirms Trump, JD Vance, and Peter Navarro repeatedly blocked it.
> This wasn’t Indian hesitation. > This was US internal sabotage driven by ideology and ego.
> Peter Navarro, a hardline protectionist, sees trade deficits as national weakness. > He opposed India for protecting agriculture, MSMEs, and policy autonomy. > His playbook: tariffs, pressure, submission. > India refused to submit.
> JD Vance, the MAGA enforcer, opposed the deal for domestic optics. > In his words... India is useful... but politically risky. > Free trade lost to vote-bank economics.
📌 But India didn’t wait.
> Deals advanced with EU, UK, UAE, Australia, Oman. > Canada, Israel, ASEAN are next.
> The real damage isn’t economic... It’s trust. > Allies now know US trade policy can collapse because of one leaked meeting and three egos.
📌 The EU–India Free Trade Agreement has already been concluded and is set to be announced soon.
When two major democracies act together, we build stronger shared security.
It was a great pleasure to sign a new EU–India Security and Defence Partnership with @DrSJaishankar today.
The pact launches an annual security and defence dialogue – with the first meeting taking place in a month – and deepens cooperation on maritime security, cyber issues, and counterterrorism. We will also explore Indian participation in European defence initiatives.
As the global order shifts, the EU will continue to deepen its diplomatic and economic ties across the world. Strong partnerships multiply our strength.
