On the podcast Mixed Signals, Aster admitted he was offered a major studio film:
"Yes… it was Morbius." He even hesitated to recall the character’s name, showing little interest in the project. When told he might have made it great, he joked: "Maybe I would’ve just added it to my list of flops." 😂
Morbius—part of Sony's Spider-Man Universe—was a critical and commercial failure. Follow-up films like Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter also underperformed, leaving the franchise stalled 🧛‍♂️💤
