#WhaleDeRiskETH 🐳 An interesting shift in Ethereum whale behavior is being observed. Some whales are increasing their ETH exposure through OTC purchases and borrowing, while other whales are reducing risk via tokenized gold and stable balance-sheet moves. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has converted ETH for charitable donations, and Aave founder Stani Kulechov sold 4,503 ETH (~$8.36M) just hours before the acceleration of the ETH price slide. The recent price of ETH has fallen below ~$2,074, which is the whale cost basis — historically, this level either triggers violent snap-back rallies or can lead to further capitulation to multi-year lows. Institutional flows are also showing a risk-off sentiment. US spot ETH ETFs have seen ~$2.5 billion in net outflows over the past 4 months, indicating that institutional de-risking may have a greater impact on the market than the individual moves of whales.
