Yes, I know that in our community, we have people from all over the world, and not everyone celebrates Christmas. In my own culture, for example, Christmas falls on a completely different day. Moreover, in our culture we place much greater importance on the New Year, and were taught to believe that it's a totally separate holiday—which, of course, isn't true at all.

Both Christmas and the New Year arrive shortly after the winter solstice. It's the perfect time to start a new count of time.

This time, the winter solstice coincided with the new moon, and I choose to see that as a good sign.

In fact, it doesn't matter whether you believe in the birth of the Son of God or not, you can take this time as a symbol of a new divine beginning awakening within you.

I prefer to choose what unites us and to reject what divides us.
