Reportedly, the Trump family has been in negotiations with Binance about a share in its US affiliate.
Following his 2023 guilty plea, CZ, the founder of Binance, may also gain a pardon from Trump.
The most recent data from The Wall Street Journal indicate that the Trump family has been in negotiations with Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange worldwide, maybe hoping for a share in the US division of the exchange.
More than that, the same sources showed that after his 2023 guilty plea bargain, Binance's founder Changpeng Zhao, often known as CZ, has spoken with the present US government looking to get a pardon.
Both issues are very critical for Binance as they might have significant impact on the crypto exchange and the overall digital asset ecosystem, which has been very supportive CZ.
Trump Family Might Own a Binance Stake. USA
People acquainted with the circumstances were quoted in the Wall Street Journal, who said that Trump family officials in the US had visited to make financial investments in the US branch of Binance.
Trump would so engage officially in cooperation with Binance.
Official accounts state that the negotiations started when Binance contacted Trump's supporters in 2024, proposing to negotiate a commercial arrangement with the Presidential family in order to help the firm be brought back to the US.
Binance US has just reopened its activities in the nation, stating that it resumed USD deposits and withdrawals for qualified clients after its 2023 pause.
If the agreement is reached at last, it is not yet clear what precise shape the Trump family interest would take. According to WSJ, the Trump family's cryptocurrency initiative, World Liberty Financial (WLFI), would be the target of their investment or acquisition.
Based on Arkham Intelligence, it is so noteworthy that among WLFI's crypto reserves BNB is also included.
Right now, CZ, the co-founder of Bincea, owns the most of the exchange.
Trump Might Grant CZ a Pardon
According to the same sources mentioned earlier, WSJ exposed yet another crucial problem: CZ has been advocating for a pardon.
Following his guilty plea in 2023, CZ spent four months in prison. The paper made hints about the likelihood that the Trump-Binance agreement would rely on a pardon for CZ should it come together.
According to WSJ's sources, Trump's buddy and top negotiator in the Middle East and Ukraine conflict, Steve Witkoff, has allegedly been engaged in the negotiations for a contract. An administrative official denied his participation, claiming he is now selling off his company holdings.
Binance Notifies Significant Achievements
The positive news about Binance and CZ follows a major accomplishment the crypto exchange just noted. The first institutional investment in the exchange and the largest crypto investment ever, Abu Dhabi's MGX AI and advanced tech investor just committed $2 billion in Binance.
Official accounts state that MGX now has a minority share in Binance.
Should the Trump family also be a Binance investor, the profitability of the exchange will only increase as the US President has already shown he upholds his Bitcoin and crypto pledges, therefore greatly encouraging the sector.
Given what CZ has done for the whole ecosystem since 2017, the crypto sector would also welcome his pardon.
