Bitcoin bridge
The Plasma Bitcoin bridge allows you to move BTC directly into Plasma’s EVM environment without relying on custodians or wrapped tokens. When you deposit BTC, a network of independent verifiers checks the transaction and mints pBTC, a token backed 1:1 by Bitcoin.
You can use pBTC in smart contracts, as collateral, or across chains through LayerZero’s Omnichain Fungible Token (OFT) standard. When you want to withdraw, you burn your pBTC, and the verifiers use a threshold signature scheme to securely release your BTC back to your address.
The XPL Token
XPL is the native token of the Plasma blockchain, and it’s used within the ecosystem for many purposes, including:
Gas fees: XPL is used to pay for transaction fees on the Plasma blockchain.Security: Validators can stake XPL to participate in the network’s consensus and help secure the chain by validating transactions @Plasma #Plasma $XPL
