Gold moves in long cycles, not straight lines. Historically, it experiences powerful bull runs lasting about 10 years, followed by many years of stagnation or decline. This happened from 1970–1980 and again from 2001–2011, each ending after strong, emotional final rallies.
The current gold bull market began around late 2015 and has now lasted roughly 10–11 years. Although the strongest price acceleration came after 2020 due to money printing, global uncertainty, and central bank buying, the cycle itself is already mature in terms of time.
This doesn’t mean gold will crash immediately, but historically, late-stage bull markets are marked by rapid price increases, heavy media attention, and widespread public participation—conditions that appear to be present now.
Gold can still move higher, but history suggests we may be closer to the final phase of this cycle than the beginning, and major gold rallies have always been followed by long quiet or painful periods.$XAU $XAG
