Bank of America just officially recommended clients put up to 4% of their portfolio in Bitcoin and crypto.
If this gains widespread real-world traction, we could see hundreds of billions to a few trillion of additional capital flow into the space.
If global investable wealth followed a similar allocation pattern, total flows could theoretically go far beyond today’s levels.
Yes, this is theoretical:
1 - Not all households are willing or able to hold crypto.
2 - Volatility scares a lot of investors; only a subset might treat it as a “satellite” position.
3 - Allocation advice from a bank doesn’t mean everyone changes their holdings.
4 - Legal, regulatory, and behavioral hurdles still exist, especially outside U.S.
But, I’m an optimist.
