I’ve been thinking a lot about Bitcoin lately, especially after re-reading my old notes and posts from years ago. When I research Bitcoin now, in 2026, it feels like a very different project than the one we used to talk about late at night with friends. Back then, we were all focused on the 2024 halving and dreaming big. In my knowledge, that moment mattered, but not in the way most of us expected.
When I look at Bitcoin today, I tell you honestly, the biggest change is not the lower block reward. It’s the way money flows around it now. We read about Bitcoin sitting inside normal banking apps, next to stocks and gold, and that still feels strange to me. They no longer treat it like a risky experiment. It’s being handled like a real asset, and that changes how people behave around it.
From a more practical angle, I see how the market has cooled down. I remember days when prices would explode or crash in hours, and everyone was either euphoric or panicking. Now the movement feels slower and calmer. In my view, that’s maturity. We may not get lottery-style pumps anymore, but we also don’t live in constant fear. For serious investors, that trade-off makes sense.
I also talk with friends who tried mining at home in the past, and their stories sound very different now. After the halving, small setups just couldn’t survive the power costs. What I see instead is big mining companies shifting toward cleaner energy. When I explain Bitcoin to someone today, I can actually speak about sustainability with more confidence than before.
Price-wise, I know some people feel disappointed that Bitcoin is hovering around the high eighty-thousands instead of instantly breaking new milestones. But when I step back, I remind myself where we came from. We’ve seen Bitcoin at levels that once felt impossible. Growth doesn’t always need fireworks to be real.
For me, the 2024 halving marked the end of Bitcoin’s wild teenage phase. In 2026, it feels calmer, more stable, and more predictable.
