In 2024, I watched my portfolio go +300% and then ride all the way back down to zero. Why? Because of one deadly emotion: Greed. We convince ourselves, "It’s going to 100k next week."
In 2026, the market is ruthless. If you don't have a Selling System, you are just holding bags for the whales. Let's fix that today.
1. THE PSYCHOLOGY OF "JUST A LITTLE MORE"
Your brain is wired to fail in crypto. When you see $SOL pump 20%, dopamine floods your system. Selling feels like losing potential profit.
But here is the truth: Unrealized gains are not real money. Until you press that button, that number on your screen is just pixels.
The Golden Rule: You will never sell the exact top. Make peace with that. Selling at 80% of the move is better than round-tripping to the bottom.
2. THE STRATEGY: SCALING OUT (NOT ALL OR NOTHING)
Amateurs think selling is a binary choice: Sell everything or hold everything. Pros scale out.
Here is the strategy I use for volatile Altcoins like $PEPE or $WIF:
Price goes +50%: Sell 25% of your position.Price goes +100% (2x): Sell another 25%.
(At this point, you have your initial investment back. The rest is a "Moon Bag" — pure profit. Zero stress.)Price goes Parabolic: Sell 10% into every big green candle.
3. THE "SECRET SAUCE": WATCH THE VOLUME 🤫
How do you know the pump is over? Don’t look at the price. Look at the Volume.
If the price makes a New High, but the volume is Lower than the previous high, that is called Bearish Divergence. It means the buyers are exhausted.
When you see this on the 4H chart:

CHECKLIST: YOUR EXIT PLAN FOR 2026
Before you enter ANY trade, write this down on a sticky note:
My Target 1: (Where will I sell the first 25%?)My Target 2: (Where do I take my principal out?)My "Invalidation" Level: (If price drops below this, I was wrong. I sell immediately).
If you don't know these numbers before you buy, you are gambling, not trading.
