President Donald Trump said the US has discussed a “framework” for a future deal about Greenland after talks with Nato.
He also stepped back from threatening tariffs on European countries. Trump gave few details but said the talks were “very productive”.
There is no agreement for the US to own or control Greenland, and Denmark clearly said its sovereignty is a red line.
Trump said any future deal could involve security cooperation in the Arctic and possible access to rare earth minerals, which are important for technology.
He also ruled out using military force. Nato’s secretary general said Greenland’s ownership was not discussed.
Overall, talks are ongoing, but there is no final deal and no change in Greenland’s status.
