@Dusk I get why people reach for the “privacy coin” label with Dusk Network, because it’s the quickest mental shortcut. But it doesn’t really fit. Dusk is trying to make privacy feel like market plumbing: settlement lives on DuskDS, apps run on DuskEVM, and Hedger adds confidentiality in a way that can still be opened up when there’s a legitimate reason to audit. That’s a different goal than simply hiding activity, and it speaks to a more practical question: how do you trade or issue assets without exposing every position and relationship to the whole internet? The timing also makes sense. MiCA has moved from “coming soon” to real deadlines, with stablecoin rules applying from June 30, 2024 and CASP rules from December 30, 2024. And Dusk is doing the unglamorous part in public: Hedger Alpha testing, plus straightforward incident reporting around bridge operations.
