Pectra introduces EIP-7251 to increase betting limits, EIP-7702 for smart wallet features and EIP-7691, which makes Tier 2 transactions cheaper. and EIP-7691, which makes Level 2 transactions cheaper.
#Ethereum is trading at USD 2,241 amid selling pressure, with analysts expecting USD 2,082 as key support and USD 2,300 as resistance.
On Wednesday, Ethereum developers successfully rolled out the Pectra update to the Sepolia test network. The update reportedly introduces 11 Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) to improve staking, wallet functionality and overall network efficiency.
According to Ether developer Terence Cao, Pectra went live today at 7:29 a. m. #GMT . Pectra was launched on Sepolia and completed the second phase of testing with a perfect score. The deployment follows a failed attempt on the Ethereum Holesky test network last week, when a misconfigured validator split the chain, rendering Holesky temporarily unusable.
The test network allows developers to test updates without putting real assets at risk. It serves as an experimental environment for testing updates without putting real assets at risk. Holesky, whose validator structure is very similar to that of the Ethereum mainnet, was expected to serve as a testing ground for Pectra, the equivalent of the mainnet.
However, so far only Sepolia has been successful, and the developers are discussing whether more will be introduced.
Ethereum developers will discuss the timeline for fully integrating Pectra into the blockchain's mainnet at the All Core Developers (ACD) meeting on March 6.
the Ethereum Prague update, part of Pectra, will be released in April 2025. Big changes await #ETH .
