I’m intrigued by Walrus because it tackles something real data storage in a decentralized way. The project is built on the Sui blockchain and designed to let developers and users store large unstructured data like videos images and datasets without relying on a centralized server. Instead of copying entire files to each node, Walrus uses a custom erasure‑coding algorithm called Red Stuff which breaks your data into many encoded pieces that are distributed across storage nodes. Even if some nodes go offline the original data can be reconstructed because only a subset of the fragments is needed.
