Binance announced the delisting of the token $ACA . Not the first and, obviously, not the last such case.

Acala is an independent DeFi platform founded in 2019 and originally conceived as the financial hub of the Polkadot ecosystem. It is a separate parachain integrated with the Polkadot relay chain, supporting DeFi tools, AMM-DEX, and cross-chain operations. Plus — compatibility with Ethereum, which was supposed to simplify the influx of liquidity from other networks.

At the same time, the picture is now ambiguous. The latest news on the official website is dated August 21, 2025, the Roadmap section is unavailable, although in social networks the project is formally alive — posts are being published, there is activity.

It is worth separately reminding an important moment from the project's history. In August 2022, Acala experienced one of the loudest DeFi incidents in the Polkadot ecosystem — the hack of the stablecoin protocol aUSD. Due to a configuration error in the liquidity pool, uncontrolled minting of aUSD occurred, resulting in the stablecoin losing its peg to the dollar by almost 99%.

The team was forced to urgently stop the network, freeze operations, and basically intervene manually in the protocol's operation. Formally, the damage was localized, part of $aUSD was later restored, but the reputational damage turned out to be critical. For many investors, this became a signal that the project's decentralization is practically limited, and management risks are higher than declared.

The project itself cannot be called a shell — Acala had strong ideas and architecture. But Binance, as usual, makes decisions based on its internal metrics: liquidity, user interest, volumes, risks. By these standards, ACA, apparently, has ceased to be needed on the platform.

My conclusion is simple: delistings should be seen as a reminder. Especially if you are buying assets for the long term. An exchange is not a guarantee of a project's future. Even an interesting technology does not save it if the market and the infrastructure around it are exhausted.
