Trump called for Kyiv and Moscow to cease drone strikes at the WEF in Davos.

US President Donald Trump made a sharp statement at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 22, addressing the situation regarding the use of combat drones.

"Drones are killing thousands of people every week. We need to stop this. I am going to meet with President Zelensky. I think we are at that moment now when they are ready to come together and make a deal. And if not — then they are stupid. This applies to both. And I know they are not stupid. But if they do not put an end to this — they are stupid. I don’t want to offend anyone, but it’s time for you to make a deal. Too many people are dying," Trump said.

Meeting with Zelensky

According to Axios, the President of Ukraine plans to arrive in Davos on Thursday for talks with Donald Trump. It is noted that the main goal of the meeting is to discuss ways to end combat operations using drones and to prevent further casualties among the civilian population.

Negotiations in Moscow

On the same day, January 22, negotiations are expected between Russian entrepreneur Steve Whitcoff and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Details of the agenda are not yet disclosed, however, observers suggest that the topic of drone security and diplomatic agreements may also be addressed.

Trump's speech at the WEF highlights the U.S. intensifying efforts to stimulate direct dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow and to seek mechanisms for de-escalating violence.
