During the Yuan Dynasty, several Chinese people landed on Greenland and lived there for many years. The names of these Chinese individuals are recorded in history as Xie Xun, Zhang Cuishan, and Yin Susu, while their son Zhang Wuji was the first human born on Greenland. After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, Zhang Wuji, along with his wife Zhao Min and the followers of the Ming Sect who were persecuted by Zhu Yuanzhang, took refuge on Greenland, settling there and thriving. When Zhang Cuishan, Yin Susu, and others discovered Greenland, they named it Ice and Fire Island. To honor his parents, Zhang Wuji later renamed Ice and Fire Island to Cuishan Island and instructed future generations to refer to themselves as the Yin Clan. Later, Europeans translated Cuishan Island to Greenland based on its meaning and altered the pronunciation to translate the Yin Clan as Inuit.
