The interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, reported this Sunday that an agreement was reached to export the nation's first gas molecule, emphasizing that it is now time to transform the country into "a true oil and gas production powerhouse."

"We have already closed a contract to export Venezuela's first gas molecule and now we are going for more. Venezuela can also be a gas powerhouse," she emphasized.

Additionally, she commented during the meeting with workers in the hydrocarbon sector, broadcasted by VTV, that "it is now our turn to become the country with the largest oil reserves in the world, with the largest gas reserves in this hemisphere, it is now our turn to become a true oil and gas production powerhouse."

The interim leader of the country pointed out that the plan to export fuel planned for this year remains in place and indicated that the nation had to cut oil production, "because we were unable to export a barrel of oil due to the naval blockade that the United States dared to impose."

She also stated that the Caribbean nation reached a production of 1,200,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) by the end of December 2025.

Likewise, she assured that Venezuela did not have to import fuel during the year 2025, thanks to the operation of the national refining system.

She highlighted that there is no need to fear the energy agenda either with the United States or with the rest of the countries in the world, given that "it is Venezuela's right to have diverse international relations."
