Tripartite negotiations have started in Abu Dhabi between representatives of Russia, Ukraine, and the USA, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. It is expected that the discussions will last two days.
The main topic of the negotiations, as stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will be issues of territorial belonging and the resolution of conflict zones.
Composition of the delegations
Ukraine
The Ukrainian delegation is headed by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov. It also includes:
Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Budanov and his deputy Serhiy Kyslytsia;
Head of the Servant of the People faction Davyd Arakhamia;
Head of the General Staff of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov;
Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate Vadym Skibitsky;
As well as several other high-ranking officials.
USA
The American side is represented by:
Special envoy of Donald Trump Steve Witkoff;
Son-in-law of the US President Jared Kushner;
Senior advisor to the newly established "Council of Peace" Josh Gruenbaum;
US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll;
Commander of NATO forces in Europe Alexus Grinkevich.
Russia
The Russian delegation is headed by the Chief of the General Staff (GRU) Igor Kostyukov. The delegation also includes representatives of the Ministry of Defense.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, negotiations from the Russian side will be conducted exclusively by the military. The names of the working group participants have not yet been disclosed.
In addition, Vladimir Putin's special representative, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, arrived in Abu Dhabi, participating in the work of the Russian-American group on economic issues along with Witkoff.
Progress of the negotiations
Following the first day of meetings, Rustem Umerov reported on his Telegram channel that the discussion "was dedicated to the parameters for ending the Russian war and the further logic of the negotiation process with the aim of moving towards a worthy and lasting peace."
Sources from Reuters confirmed that the first day of negotiations was successfully completed.

The trilateral negotiations aim to:
Development of mechanisms for resolving territorial issues;
Determining the further logic of the negotiation process;
Finding compromises capable of ensuring long-term peace and security in the region.
Considering the participation of high-ranking representatives from military, political, and economic structures, the meeting in Abu Dhabi may become an important milestone in the multi-stage process of peaceful resolution.
