🚨 Robo armed with objective on cryptocurrency data shakes France 🚨
According to BlockBeats, on January 9, three hooded men violently broke into a home in Manosque, France, with a clear objective: data linked to cryptocurrencies.
The incident occurred at a house located on Cherry Field Path, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region. The attackers threatened a woman with a firearm, physically assaulted her, and stole a USB drive containing crypto-related information belonging to her partner before fleeing the scene.
The victim did not suffer serious injuries and managed to free herself a few minutes later to alert authorities. The case has been handed over to the regional criminal investigation department, along with the French national police, who have already begun their investigations.
This incident adds to a troubling trend. In 2024, Jameson Lopp, technical director at the security firm Casa, documented over 70 violent incidents related to cryptocurrencies globally. France has emerged as one of the main hotspots in Europe, with at least 14 cases recorded.
Cybercrime consultant David Sehyeon explained that the combination of high levels of criminal activity, the public exposure of crypto wealth among entrepreneurs and traders, and growing local awareness of digital assets has made the country a fertile ground for crypto crimes, both opportunistic and organized.
⚠️ The warning is clear:
Cryptocurrency security is no longer just digital. Physical custody has become a real risk.
