Hello everyone! We have nice drops – don't treat this as a tragedy, but as an opportunity, especially if you bought higher and didn't cut off along the way.

Average your positions. Don't let yourself be convinced that you can find the perfect bottom, because it's simply impossible.

Think about what project you are buying and whether it realistically has a chance to grow significantly in a bull market, or if it's just a gamble. That's why I always say: the main projects, namely BTC, ETH, SOL.

Personally, when buying SOL at $100, I know I won't sell below $250. If it drops to $50, I will buy more. In the meantime, I will regularly buy BTC – it should be the main part of my portfolio.

Whether I buy BTC for $70,000, then buy more for $66,000, and later for $74,000 – it changes nothing at all. At most, I'll earn a little less.

People who are constantly looking for the perfect bottom and will always criticize others – most often they never buy themselves.

Stick to your plan, don't listen to the "wise men from Twitter." If you set a specific exit price/strategy – stick to it and DCA.

BTC has been stuck in the same channel for two months – practically zero action. And it is unlikely to change in the near future, as all the capital is currently flowing into metals. The market is uncertain, most are sitting on stablecoins and waiting for declines, and there is practically no new money in sight. There is currently no hope on the horizon 😒.

The Fed keeps interest rates unchanged – at the top of the neutral range

The Federal Reserve maintained interest rates at an unchanged level with a vote of 10–2, in line with widespread expectations. Both Governor Stephen Miran and Chris Waller voted for a 25 basis point cut – just as we suspected. It is worth noting that this is Stephen Miran's last meeting – his term ends on Saturday. Chris Waller's name continues to come up in the context of the Fed chair position, but according to predictive markets, he is now far behind – in a distant third place behind Rick Rieder and Kevin Warsh.

The key takeaway is a slight shift towards a hawkish tone in the statement and the press conference. At the December FOMC meeting, officials noted that "downside risks to achieving the Committee's goals for employment and inflation have diminished" – this phrase has been removed from today's statement. Instead, the Committee currently assesses that "risks to achieving the goals for employment and inflation are approximately balanced."

During the press conference, Chair Powell reiterated that policy is "in a good place," characterized the current level of rates as "not restrictive," and emphasized that the Committee is not in a hurry for further changes. Overall, the tone was somewhat more hawkish than expected – without a strong signal for imminent further cuts.

Kaspersky warns - gaming trap for crypto: new malware "Stealka" steals players' wallets.

Do you play games and have cryptocurrencies? Kaspersky claims that you need to be careful. Cybercriminals have found a new attack strategy on cryptocurrency wallets - this time under the guise of what players are most often looking for: mods for games and free software. Kaspersky has revealed details of a new malicious software called "Stealka" that targets users of Microsoft Windows.

Camouflaged as games and cracks

The malware, discovered in November, spreads through legitimate platforms like GitHub, SourceForge, and Google Sites. It takes the form of mods for popular games - especially Roblox - and cracks for applications like Microsoft Visio. The attackers go a step further by creating entire fake websites that, according to Kaspersky researcher Artem Ushkov, look "quite professional". They likely utilize AI tools. Stealka has a "sophisticated arsenal of capabilities," but its most dangerous specialization is targeting data from browsers based on Chromium and Gecko engines. This poses a threat to over 100 different browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Yandex, Edge, and Brave.

The main target is autocomplete data - usernames, passwords, addresses, and payment card information. But that's not all. The malware also attacks the settings and databases of 115 browser extensions, including cryptocurrency wallets, password managers, and 2FA services.

Massive expiry event

Roughly $23.7 billion in BTC options are expiring. When you add Ethereumand others, the total is around $28 billion.

Options are contracts that give traders the right to buy (calls) or sell (puts) Bitcoin at a specific price by a certain date. When these contracts expire, they must be settled.

A $28 billion expiration means massive amounts of capital are tied up in these bets. Markets have to "hedge" their positions to avoid losing money.

Market makers (MMs) generally write (sell) the options that retail traders buy. MMs profit most when the options expire worthless. The price point where the most options expire worthless is called the "max pain" price.

MMs buy BTC when the price drops and sell BTC when the price rises to keep the market neutral. This makes it possible to manage risks.

This constant buying-low and selling-high by MMs creates a "suppressive" force. It keeps the price strictly range-bound.

"Uncolining spring"

Once the expiration moment passes (usually 8:00 AM UTC on Fridays), the MMs no longer need to hedge these positions. The "suppressive weight" is lifted. This usually leads to a return of volatility.

Before a possible move up, the market could drop briefly to "hunt liquidity." Algorithms push the price down to trigger "stop-loss" orders from nervous traders.

Historically, January sees an inflow of money, which is bullish for BTC.
