Gyroscope, the stablecoin protocol behind Gyro Dollars (GYD), launched the governance token GYFI on March 19th. According to co-founder Lewis Gudgeon, 15% of the total supply (2.1 million GYFI) will be airdropped to eligible users, including those participating in SPIN points, holding founding member NFTs, or engaging on Gyroscope Galxe.
Recipients can claim the entire GYFI or lock it to receive rewards (an additional 40% for a 9-month lock, 150% for an 18-month lock). GYFI allows holders to participate in governance, with the capability to buy back and burn tokens in the future.
