In an interview with SquawkBox, Novogratz cites Ethereum's recent surge and quick accumulation as a stronger option than Bitcoin. ETH was a stronger option than BTC because Ethereum treasury firms are already a standard, with SharpLink, GameSquare Holdings, and others already formed and more on the way.
The billionaire said Ethereum prices would grow as these corporations amass ETH due to low supply. Ethereum has a strong story, and record shorts have helped its bullishness, he says.
According to Novogratz, Ethereum will likely hit $4,000 several times. After the altcoin breaks $4,000, the billionaire expects price discovery to drive ETH higher.
Ethereum continues to look better, thus he thinks it might outperform Bitcoin in 3-6 months. This gives a short timescale as Bitcoin has set many new all-time highs in the past year and Ethereum is yet to beat its 2021 highs.
ETH Already Outperforms Bitcoin
In July, Ethereum has surpassed Bitcoin in gains, supporting Novogratz's prediction that the altcoin will exceed Bitcoin. CryptoRank reports that ETH is up over 45% this month, compared to Bitcoin's 8%.
Ethereum has doubled in the last 90 days, gaining almost 100%. Bitcoin has gained just over 22% throughout the same timeframe. BTC supremacy remains over 61%, preventing altcoin season.
