Multiple departments of the U.S. federal government have run out of operational funds. As a new budget has yet to be passed, several departments of the U.S. government are once again facing a 'shutdown.' At this point, it is less than three months since the longest government 'shutdown' in U.S. history, which lasted 43 days, ended last year. Even if the new budget currently being voted on in Congress passes smoothly, some departments will only receive funding for two weeks. This means that in half a month, the U.S. government may be facing a third 'shutdown' in a short period of time.
