I want to share a real experience I had at OKX, feeling like a big fool.
At that time, I hadn't received my passport, and my account was registered during the early period when OKX supported "national ID registration". I completed the registration and usage according to the platform's rules, and the account was functioning normally.
After a normal login one time, the account suddenly showed an anomaly, and I was then required to undergo identity verification. After multiple submissions of my ID card and facial verification, the platform responded that they "could not confirm account ownership" and informed me that I was not the account owner.
I found it strange and very confusing:
• Login password, 2FA, bound mobile phone, and email are all in my hands
• The account has always been used by me
• I cannot and have never used someone else's ID for registration or verification
However, the platform consistently refused verification on the grounds of "identity mismatch".
The more complicated part is:
OKX's user interface does not allow viewing of the registered account name (unlike other exchanges I use), so I cannot verify myself whether there are inconsistencies due to changes in name format, language, or historical rules.
The fatal issue:
After the account was frozen, I considered myself unlucky and did not demand continued control of the account, only hoping to handle the funds in the account in compliance.
One of the funds has a clear source, coming from my KYC account at Bybit, and I can provide complete third-party proof.
However, the platform still insists:
Only through facial verification can any form of withdrawal be processed.
Even though I clearly state: I do not request account usage rights, only asking for the original return of funds, it still has not been processed. It's too difficult; I escaped a big drop but not the feeling of being a fool.
