tracks the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, held from January 19–23, 2026, in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. 

Under the theme "A Spirit of Dialogue," the forum gathered nearly 3,000 global leaders to address five core pillars: international cooperation, new sources of growth, investing in people, responsible innovation, and planetary boundaries. 

Key Highlights and Themes

"Blue Davos" & the Year of Water: A major focus was placed on freshwater access, ocean protection, and "blue food" security.

AI Scaling: Discussions shifted from theoretical AI to real-world industrial applications in sectors like healthcare, energy (notably Aramco), and commerce.

Cryptocurrency Maturity: Conversations centered on "regulatory passporting" to harmonize fragmented global digital asset laws.

India's Investment Push: Multiple Indian states, including Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, signed multi-billion dollar investment deals in infrastructure and renewable energy.

U.S. Presence: President Donald Trump attended the forum as a key delegate, reportedly using the platform to announce a new "Board of Peace". 

Leadership Change

The 2026 summit was notable for being the first to open without founder Klaus Schwab as chairman. Schwab retired "with immediate effect" following an independent investigation into allegations of financial and ethical misconduct.
