$BNB Binance Coin (BNB) was launched in 2017 by Binance, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges. Initially, BNB was an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain, created to offer trading fee discounts on Binance. In 2019, Binance introduced its own blockchain, Binance Chain, and migrated BNB to its native network.

BNB gained utility beyond trading fee discounts, being used for transaction fees on Binance Smart Chain (BSC), token sales, and payments. BSC, launched in 2020, became a major competitor to Ethereum, offering lower fees and faster transactions, boosting BNB’s adoption.

Binance implements quarterly BNB burns, reducing supply and increasing value. Over time, BNB evolved into a core component of Binance’s ecosystem, supporting DeFi projects, gaming, and payments. Despite regulatory scrutiny, BNB remains one of the top cryptocurrencies, reflecting Binance’s influence in the crypto industry.
