The Nikkei Index faced a third consecutive day of losses, with early trading seeing the index fall below the 53,000-point mark, dropping nearly 870 points to a low of 52,950 points. According to RTHK, the index later narrowed its losses to 637 points, standing at 53,181 points, representing a decline of 1.18%.
