Key points- The new team will include Thomas Coratger, the cryptographic engineer at the foundation, as their leader and Emile, who is associated with the cryptographical work of leanVM. - Research Prizes: The organization is providing two $1 million prizes, one of them, Poseidon Prize, aimed at hardening one of several hash functions, and the other, Proximity Prize, aimed at conducting broader post-quantum cryptography research.
Community Involvement - Post-Quantum Transactions: Bi-weekly developer sessions starting next month, driven by Antonio Sanso. A workshop of three days is planned in October, and one session will be held before EthCC in March.
Industry Context: The announcement comes when the industry is particularly focusing on preparedness against quantum and when Coinbase recently formed its quantum advisory board.
